CT RECONSTRUCTION

Anatomical illustration created from CT scan data, part of the MSc Medical Art at the University of Dundee

The aim of this project was to create accurate anatomical illustrations from CT scan data, by extracting relevant data and cleaning it to make it clearer.

The final image shows the lungs, part of the skeleton and the muscles around the shoulder.

The initial data was extracted using InVesalius. Different layers were created for the bones, lungs, muscles and skin.

These layers were imported into Zbrush and cleaned by removing artifacts and smoothing out some areas. The base color and texture were added in Zbrush as well.

Finally, two different 2D views were exported to Adobe Photoshop, where they were textured in more detail.
